Hyaluronic acid (HA)

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural substance found in healthy joints, helping to absorb shock and support smooth movement. After injury or with arthritis, HA levels can decrease. Injecting HA helps restore joint lubrication, reduce pain, and support healing by stimulating your body’s own HA and collagen production. It’s commonly used to treat arthritis and joint conditions in areas such as the knee, hip, ankle, big toe, thumb, and shoulder. Many patients experience reduced pain and improved movement following treatment

There are many HA products available of varying grades. At Emerald Advanced MSK Therapy we use the highest quality Hyaluronic Acid on the market. Sinovial HL is a market-leading product from IBSA, a Swiss multi-national pharmaceutical company. Please click here to read more about their product and patient testimonials.

Corticosteroid Injection Therapy

Cortisone (a type of corticosteroid) is a powerful anti-inflammatory used for decades to treat joint and soft tissue conditions. It’s based on the body’s natural hormone, cortisol.

Cortisone injections are commonly used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and restore movement in conditions such as osteoarthritis, bursitis, frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel, tenosynovitis, and trigger finger.
